Served on tap in a chalice glass

Appearance – The beer is served a hazy golden orange color with a one finger head of white foam atop. The head fades rather fast leaving a bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – As may be expected for a spiced pear ale, both the pear and the spice show up strong. The pear is the heaviest, but the spice comes in a close second with lots of cardamom, cumin, and clove. Along with these smells are also some light lemon aromas and a little bit of a herbal smell.

Taste – The taste is much drier then I would have anticipated from the nose with it beginning with a rather drier pear flavor mixed with some flavors of a more cracker like nature. Spice flavors of cardamom and cumin begin the flavor profile with a bit of clove coming on later. Along with the incoming spices so too comes some herbal flavors and a bit of lemon. A bit of a more peppery flavor comes at the very end along with a sweetening of the pear a bit, producing a rather odd, still moderately dry and spiced flavor is left to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on average side with a carbonation level that is rather average as well. Both are quite complementing of the spice and the pear and help keep it a bit easy drinking even with the somewhat odd mix of flavors on the tongue at the end of the taste.

Overall – A rather interesting try, but nothing all that overly exceptional. Worth one try, but not too many more.

Pours gold with a fading head.
Nose shows some mix of cardamon, cumin, nutmeg, cloves or star anise along with a hint of baked pears. Not sure about the savoury cumin-like character.
More cardamon as a flavour along with a harsh, herbal astringency. Very little supporting malt and the aggressive bitterness clashes with the spices.
Carbonation is too high.

Loved the peppercorn saison in the oddland series. This pear ale with cumin and cardamom is another surprising and fun beer. The nose and taste are both intense with the spices. There isn't much sweetness as I would have expected with the advertisement of pear but this is probably for the best, given the cumin. The color is bright orange with lots of sediment. Would probably pair great with a steak or lamb for dinner.

Hazy, sediment-laden orange-gold, with a thick study of bright white foam, an inch and a half thick.

Big cardamom, cumin, pear, lemon pith, coriander, and a hint of pomme. Piquant aromas showcase brightness and fruity fun.

Firm spiciness with lots of cardamom. Cumin is lighter, but noticeable. Pear is a good flavor, without punching it out with the rest of it. Coriander and lemon show up, a bit, as does some peppery flavors. I like the herbal bitterness exemplified. Citrus hops come in with hints of tanginess and a mild pith-y orange/tangerine note. A clinic of pomme seed fruits and exotic spices. Good.

Drinks light-medium, but appropriate. A little showy with 6.3% ABV. Carbonation is big and fluffy.

I can vibe with this. Not as good as the peppercorn saison, but still tasty.
