American amber lager brewed with corn and 6-row. Toasty malt flavors round out the crisp malt base.

My first from Brix Factory, I went on their website and see that they are quite young... like realistically less than a year. But they did open their taproom in West Oakland (which needs more love) and do other Good Guy stuff for the community... or intend to. So for good intentions at least, I give them very good Overall Hugs for their future.
Soft Shoulder reminds me as much of a brown ale as it does an amber lager. It Looks murky like an ale. Smells also are fruitier than most lagers. Tastes are balanced, but the fruit gets in the way of lager crispness. Not quite medium-mouthed.
I'd not have this again, in part because it is either mis-styled or, at least, confusing to me. But I would like to try Brix's Saison as it has Grains of Paradise... which I often like in the malt bill.

My first beer from @brixfactorybrewing and it does not disappoint. Pours out murky copper colored with a nice layer of effervescence. Malt is prominent on the palate.
