Appearance: Dark copper in color with small, glowing amber highlights. Long-standing creamy off-white head. Average lacing.
Smell: Caramel malt. Hoppy, even minty.
Mouthfeel: Medium body, lightly dextinous. Very fine bubbled moderate carbonation. Somewhat zesty on the tongue.
Taste: Tea-like hops. Bold bitterness. Citrusy. Yeasty fruitiness. Soft, sweet caramel notes top out at the swallow. Finishes with a flourish of yeasty fruit and a quick-passing dollop of sweet malt before becoming resinously dry. Long lasting bitterness.
Drinkability: An enjoyable pint, but I'm not sure I'd want more than one. It shows everything it has to offer within the first few sips and then the resonating bitter/dry finish starts to build on the palate. Overall, decent enough but lacking some finesse.

Eye Candy: Brilliant transparent gold with a hint of orange in the center. Plenty of slow rising lines of carbonation bubbles. Lovely thick 2 finger off white head. Head lasted thoughout.
The Nose Knows: Huge deep malts up front, touch of honey and brown sugar, pine hop to finish. Both well balanced, hops not overdone by any means.
Tongueland: Big malts up front, perfect transition to hop bitter that was balanced with the sweetness of the malts. Honey in the background. Not drying. No pure bitterness. Perfect transition, minimal resinous aftertaste.
Bender factor: A delight to non IPA'ers such as myself. Usually, 1, maybe 2 Pale Ales are it for the night. This time, I was able to drink a whole growler by myself.
