Had this a the Blue Monk in Buffalo on cask. Unfortunately by the time I got to it the beer had lost quite a bit of carbonation. It poured a murky brown with an off white head. The aroma was mostly sweet malt and some yeast. The flavor was of toffee, clove, and big malt flavor. I'm wondering if they mixed their house yeast with a belgian yeast. The mouthfeel is hard to comment on because of the loss of carbonation. It is an honorable effort from a brewery that does German well. My biggest complaint is that they don't branch out enough with ingrediants and different yeast profiles so I'm happy to see this offering and look forward to the next.

Pours dark brown with translucent, murky edging. A one-inch head of beige rose up from the growler pour before receding to a placid surface and a ring of foam.
Aromatics lead off with chocolate, cloves, toffee, caramel, and a hint of bannana.
Tootsie rolls and cocoa.
The mouthfeel is chewy and creamy. Carbonation is on the mild side for the style.
Nougat, chocolate, caramel, and toffee start the pallet, with hints of vanilla, leather, figs, and raisins.
Alcohol is slightly warming and some mild residuals step forward.
Some plummy bubblegum steps forward along with hints of dark rum and raisins.
Finishes dryish, with lingering caramel-drizzeled chocolate.
Quite tasty, and spot-on for a Dubbel.
