Had on tap. Murky dark red almost violet tinted body, with pink tinted khaki foam head. Sweet cherry tones with limited tartness, malts support for the smell. Taste builds on this with more tartness, minor tones of red currant, but then a wave of cherry kool-aid sweetness to finish. Simpler but solid, true in body too with modest tartness and perky sweetness in a malty and smooth and cool medium-light body. The wife's hungarian cherry beer tour continues!

I had this beer on-tap in a pilsner glass at the brewery in Balatonföldvár.

Appearance: bright red with a clear body and a finger of lovely pink foam atop.

Smell: sweet and cherry! What else do you need? It's not complex or sophisticated, but it sure does appeal to me.

Taste: sweet, just a bit tart, and a nice cherry flavor. It almost tastes like it has been backsweetened, but I'm wondering if they just added the cherry concentrate (some or all of it) after fermentation. In any case, it's quite good, if you like cherry beers.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: like I said, not the most sophisticated thing out there, but darn if it isn't right up my alley!
