Only a year old, this is an interesting concept: a nano-brewery in a new cosmopolitan food court in the world's second largest train station whose complex just layered this entertainment centre called Sakura Stage. Like most of dense Tokyo, there is a store within a store within a mall within a complex... and the story gets quite long, even if I'm lucky enough to get to the bottom of the mystery.
Shibuya Brewery fits. it is the only brewery in the 14 restaurant Shibuya Sakuragaoka Beer Hall, known as SSB. Patrons of any one of the 14 stores can order a beer at Shibuya. Contained within a very new and hip entertainment centre, the Beer/Food Hall has a very unique Vibe... upscale and young. Quality is hard to judge as I only had their lager and it did its job of refreshment mid-afternoon... after the restaurants had closed for lunch and would not reopen for dinner for at least an hour. The Brewery offered only 4 of its brews on tap and two guest taps and some macro-type bottles; so not a great variety.
Service was adequate as the bartender's English was better than my nonexistent Japanese. If I was staying another day in Tokyo, I'd return for dinner. But I'm not. So can you try the Food Court and Beer Hall for me ?
