Copenhagen 15/11c20109. 75 cl bottle from Ping Vin & Spiritus, Vestergade, Køge. The version I am drinking holds an ABV of 7,0. Straight white label with a lot of scribbling (what food to eat with it and a long yarn about rich malty backbones, balancing bitterness and so on.
Pours unclear amber with a big white head. Fairly stable and fluffy. Settles as thin layer of foam barely covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a strong sweet malty odor and citric notes. Sweet malts, hints of caramel. Citrus, black pepper. Lightly acerbic.
Medium carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is quite sweet for a Saison followed by and balanced by a medium strong citric sourness. Aftertaste is bitter-sweet. Lingers for a while. Sour dry finish.
On the malty side for a Saison. But refreshing and fairly well-balanced.
