Appearance: Poured with two fingers of head that did have decent retention but no lacing. The body is a modest dark brown but as lower carbonation.
Smell: Toffee malt with mild caramel and a back drop of nuts and the barest herbal touch. Potency is solid and didn't need a lot of warming up.
Taste: Very malt forward as Toffee passed over to brighter caramel malt before a slight dry nut note whispers before some mild hopping rounds us out.
Mouthfeel: Transitioning is decent on this one, the carbonation is a little bit on the low side but aftertaste is a nice dry malt with nut touches.
Drinkability: Medium body that has a touch of dry to it that makes it easy to keep drinking. Settles down well enough.
Final Thoughts: There's not a lot to say about this one, it's just an all around solid Brown Ale. Really it's been a while I've encountered a local Brown I enjoyed tis much as was more malt then nut.
