Intense tart raspberry in the front and middle palate, finishing with a smooth amber malt backbone. There are no hops in this beer, all flavours come from the raspberries, yeast and malt. We made this beer as a collaboration with the Common.

650ml bottle - were they actually going for a bear-pun name, or did Prince's estate weigh in on the original one?

This beer pours a clear, medium magenta colour, with two fingers of puffy, finely foamy, and mildly fizzy tan head, which leaves nothing in the way of lace anywhere near the glass as it quickly evaporates.

It smells of fresh-picked, ripe raspberries, gritty and grainy cereal malt, and maybe a hint of lactose sweetness. The taste is sour raspberries, grainy and crackery pale malt, and yeah, that's it, no hops were harmed in the making of this brew.

The carbonation is adequate in its palate-coating frothiness, the body a so-so middleweight, and mostly smooth, with nothing really a cause for concern at this particular juncture. It finishes trending dry, the tartness of the fruit maintaining a lingering stranglehold.

Overall - well, they done brought the goods with this offering. Raspberries for days, son! And not so sour that I need to be worried about my tooth enamel. Worth checking out, especially if you like 'em fruity.
