From 09/05/12 notes. Growler filled less than 24 hours earlier.

Mahogany brown color, one inch of off white head and low carbonation evident. Some nice hops, especially int he taste, with pine, resin, floral notes, and light citrus hops. Definitely more piney and floral than citrusy. Easy to drink, no real bitterness. Worth checking out.

 

 

Lovely clear amber with a sizable head and impressive retention. Nice lacing with a calm demeanor in the glass. Smell is sweet, bready with a pleasing and pronounced fruitiness. Notes of toffee and a light crisp floral hoppiness. Taste is excellent. Nice big breadiness with a sweet caramel undertone. Fruitiness is a tribute to an excellent yeast strain. It does not overpower but broadens the overall malt profile. Toffee and plums. Firm tea and leaf hops gives a crisp dry finish with leafy remnants bringing light grapefruit as you swallow. A touch of America in the ESB. Perfect lightness and smooth carbonation. Just a touch of fullness in the bubbles. Super drinkable and a top tier session beer. I would love to see this in bottles. An excellent all around beer that makes me wish I was in the Hamptons this weekend to enjoy more of this delicious brew.

Growler purchased from brewery 24 hours before consumption.

A - Nice amber color, moderate carbonation, forms a nice head that falls flat in about a minute. The almost complete lack of a head knocks it.

S - Very floral hop aroma along with some toasted malt.

T - Very similar to aroma but even more floral. The fresh hops really come through, rather than being resinous with a lot of citrus or pine, there is a floral bouquet of hops. Unique and very tasty.

M - Moderate body but finishes very clean. Carbonation right on for the style.

D - Great flavor, enjoyable to smell, clean finish, refreshing...very drinkable.

If you can get it, try it!

Had on tap at the Southampton Publick House. It was served in a pint glass.

The color is clear with a little white head with really good retention and left a good deal of lacing. The aroma is dominated by hops for me, mostly floral and pine hops. The taste is more or less the same as the aroma. Its medium bodied and nicely drinkable.

It was very good and would have it again. Definitely worth a try if you're at the brewery.

On tap @ the Southampton Publick House (Southampton, NY) on 8/28/10. Served in a pint glass.

Pours a clear copper, with a finger of off-white foamy head. This retains with a thin creamy layer of froth that leaves some strong looking sticky lacing down the sides of the glass. The aroma is floral and green up front, with additional notes of spice and citrus rind. Strong buttery biscuit character more than holds its own underneath the hop flavors.

The taste is fresh and biting wit citrus rind and light bitter grapefruit. There is a definite English malt presence that is sweet and bready with some backing grainy textures to it. This finishes peel and spice that linger hard on the palate. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a nice feeling sharpness to it that prickles the tongue with flavor. An easy slickness underneath keeps this moving pretty readily in the mouth.

A Fresh Hop ESB, huh? I like it! Those vibrant but not overly aggressive hop flavors matched up nicely with the English malts and still stayed crisp, easy, and refreshing on the palate. Well done.

Poured a medium to deep copper hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.

The smell featured a crisp pale malt, some caramel and a vibrant hop.

The taste consisted of a fresh floral hop and a clean doughy grain.

The mouthfeel was toward the thinner side of the style with good carbonation.

Overall a very tasty and fresh tasting ale.
