Poured on draught at the Pub in Pacific City. I had to look at the descriptors provided by the pub to realize this was supposed to be a pale ale rather than an American hefeweizen.
Light, very cloudy straw in color, robust creamy head that lingers, spicy, citrus in the nose. The beer is inviting. There is a subtle pine and citrus taste up front but the heavy mouth feel of the yeast in suspension soon replaces that with some sweet yeast esters on the back of the tongue. On the second taste, the hops come through with more intensity and you realize what a great beer this is. Easy drinking, good hop presence, excellent body that is full and rich but not malty.

Pours two fingers of head on a hazy straw body.
The aroma is bright citrus (lemon and orange) with pine background.
The taste tends sweeter, like orange and mango with a little lemon bitterness.
The texture is light and airy.
Nice flavor and easy drinking.

Pours hazy and ultimately cloudy gold with one finger of white head. Good head retention and nice amount of lace.
Nice floral hop and bready malts in the smell.
Taste floral fruity hops with a hint of herbs and bready malts for support. The fruity aspect was all citrus no pineapple. No big resin hop oils either. So a pretty basic pink grapefruit taste with enough malt sweetness to meet the style.
Mouthfeel was light to medium with just enough carbonation.
Overall a better than average APA that drinks quite a bit like those session IPAs. One of my favorite Oregon Brewers and this beer is certainly worth trying. My had a bottle date of 7.01.2015. I hope that was not a best by date.

This is great. In fact, I'm drawing a blank on whether or not I've had a pale that tops it. Floral, citrusy, hops, lacing, carbonation, everything. It's another win for pelican.

Poured from 22oz bomber into a dimpled mug.
Appearance: nice golden hue with a moderate haze. Head is a thick finger of pillowy ivory foam. I really like it.
Smell: lightly citrusy aroma with just a little bit of a piquant character. Not overly complex, but well put-together.
Taste: a nice combination of citrusy and berry-like flavors, resting atop a slightly sweet malt base. This is actually really working for me -- good stuff!
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and a decent creaminess for the style.
Overall: a tasty and drinkable pale ale. Something about its hop combination just really appeals to me.

Pale gold with a bit of haziness, as it's unfiltered, of course. Pretty balanced between hops and malts, and gives a pleasant little tinge the first few seconds of being held on the tongue. I didn't feel like the citrus / floral aspects of it were super strong, but they were certainly there. The flavor lingers for quite a while, and I recommend taking notice of the slight changes in which flavors come out after swallowing. Leaves a dry feel. The head isn't robust. It's healthy at the start but isn't maintained long, though that isn't necessarily a bad thing if you're not a fan of really heady beers (which I don't care for a lot). As has been said before, a bit more bitter than a typical pale ale, but not so much that it doesn't still fit the style. Not in my top 10, but it's a great beer for a casual night by the beach.
