Served in 12oz goblet. Poured a clean, clear bright golden-yellow color with about 1/2 inch of white head that had very good retention and moderate lacing.

Citrusy hops were the main component of the aroma, with just a light bit of malt showing through. That describes the flavor profile as well.

The body was crisp and clean, with a dry finish. Drinkability was good, you could easily drink a couple of these. Overall, a good, solid beer. Nothing special, but worth trying if you see it.

Beer #51 in my great Utah Brew Hunt.

I am fairly certain that this beer was brewed at Red Rock - it uses their standard bottles and labels. Also, only 300 bottles and a couple kegs made it to Oregon. So, I feel like this belongs under the Red Rock listing.

Definitely hopped up, this one is. Spicy and earthy tones really show, but not so much that it puts it into hop bomb territory. Balanced, yet full. More of a sipper, but pretty nice overall. I can dig it.

Bottle picked up in Portland at Belmont Station. Opened on 5.25.12.

A - Pours light, clear orange with a huge cream-colored foamy head with good retention.

S - Grassy and weed-like.

T - Slight orange citrus with a big bitter grassy finish.

D - Good carbonation with a very light body.

O - Grassy and earthy. A thin body, not the greatest offering from Pelican. No bottle date.

Pretty pale golden color with topped by a half-finger of creamy white head. Aroma is huge on tangy, slightly peppery Saaz hops, with a hint of rye malt that addes another note of white pepper. Palate is big on rye malt, with its characteristic peppery bite, along with some notes of grapefruit from the Saaz hops. A syrupy sweet note comes through just after the swallow before the hops take over to impart a bitter finish. I'm not getting nearly as much vegetable character from this as my co-panelists, but there is a hint of it. I just think this is a very enjoyable punch of Saaz hops, which happens to be one of my favorite varieties.

16.9oz bottle into tulip snifter.
collaboration beer brewed with Red Rock Brewery.

bottle categorizes it as an "India-Style Rye Lager".

Pours a clear, golden yellow with a fizzy, white head.

Floral, grassy hops with a light spicy rye character that blends well with the hops.

More floral, grassy, spicy hops that transitions into light rye notes and finishes with some toasty, biscuit malt.

Medium body with soft carbonation.

A very good lager. The rye and extra hopping definitely give this quite a bit more kick then a typical American lager.
