gorgeous take on italian pils here, the lager game is on point at this killer little brewery and seafood spot, a must visit in the arts district. golden blonde and perfectly clear under a puffing inch plus of white wispy head, frantic carbonation, high shine. the nose is herbal and pretty well hopped, with a full spectrum pils malt base that could well be imported italian barley, white bread, green tea, honeysuckle, lime zest, brassy-like minerality but short of metallic or anything, well lagered as they all were here, clean without being too quick, fresh, immediately seems like a great food beer, nice contribution from all the elements, recognizable as an italian pils. the flavor is similar, the whole thing is the flavor climax, which is not to say it doesnt move but that its consistent and somewhat robust overall, this has more than a moment, which is neat, some grassiness to the hops with light citrus and needed bitterness late, the grain is the driver though most of the way and its beautiful, lightly toasty with a warmth about it, nutty without being heavy or autumnal or anything, its four season beer for sure, could have a dozen of these, hints of honey, jasmine, and verbena to it, nice balance, so fresh and peppy, the high carbonation is spot on, and like literally all of the beers we had in here, its a killer food beer, it has some substance and is interesting but is also light and effortless, sweet spot for seafood, which they do so well here. im all in on this place!
