Taster at taproom. Ruddy brown pour with a small head. Aroma is musty and hoppy. Taste brings more bitterness and some unique flavors from the dark rye Malts. Full.

10 oz pour on tap at 5 horses tavern in Somerville. Almost black in appearance with off white lacing. Scents of red wine and grape juice. Really interesting flavors of red wine and red grapes to start. Kind of a weird lingering taste on the palate, though- kind of a weird funky bitterness. Hard to put my finger on it. Overall, an interesting beer with a really enjoyable flavor at first but not sure if I’d have another due to the odd aftertaste.

look - basically black with a slight head and skimming
smell - roasty toasty red grapes
taste - easy going with not at much roastyness but it's still there with a slight woody red grape note
feel - medium full body with very slight carbonation
Ovearll - Interesting beer

Poured from a bomber into a tulip glass.
Black in color with a nice brown head and good lacing. Red wine smell, just a bit sour. Taste is interesting. Definitely some red wine note along with a rich earthiness that includes chocolate and dark toast. Nice hop background. Enjoyed it.

Bottled spring 2016; drank 7/10/16 @ the Yarchives.
Black appearance.
A rough pour yielded a big, noisy tan head; strong lace.
Fresh earth, raspberry & smoke notes in the nose.
Medium thick mouthfeel. Fresh earth, dry raspberry & faint cream flavors up front; a bitter, boozy finish.
Drinkable but not overly enjoyable; I've had my last.
