Against The Grain Brewery

Poured into a tulip, at Bluebird Barbeque, Burlington, VT. The appearance was a ruggedly dark brown color with a slim bar pour’s kind of white head that just slides out into oblivion. The aroma takes on dried cherries, smoked malt, some woody notes, slightly like oak. The flavor starts smokey sweet with the smoked malts up front and then the cherries bending on into the woodiness, that part seems to blend well. Decent smoked semi-sweet aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Mild carbonation leans upon the smoke and the sweet smooth maltiness rolling over my tongue. Overall, very nice smoked beer that I would have again.
