Glad to have found this at UtoBeer in London's Longborough Market.... a good source of Belgians.
Petrus's Blond Looks good enough to drink: healthy foam, sticks around and has a full blond bod. Smells are more subtle than mainly malt, some spice in there (call it coriander.) I'd like for those spices to enter late-palate and not be so strong; but by mid-palate the sweet malt has been pushed out of the way. Medium-mouthed.
De Brabandere is among the handful of Belgian brewers who have bought other brewers and managed their brands and got them distributed to the U.S. Because of their moxie, I'd like to visit them. But Brabandere is probably on my B List for my BBBB (Belgian Brewers Bucket List.) Maybe some day I visit. In the meantime, fix the spicing on this Blond. A Votre Sante' !

Purchased from Nardi's Cellarbrations (with a glass!) in September 2022. Drunk in July 2023.
L: Extremely clear, golden yellow. Thin, bright-white head. Large bubbles fly up the glass as individual units rather than one big stream.
S: Belgian yeasty sourness, coriander, cloves.
T: Belgian-yeast-driven, tangy, leathery base. Coriander and cloves merge smoothly onto the palate at the point of swallow. The aftertaste is long and sweet and slightly phenolic. No hint of the 6.5% ABV.
F: Mouthfeel is smooth. Carbonation and associated prickle are low. I suspect the beer comes across as slightly sweeter than it would if the carbonation was higher.
O: A nice, very Belgian, blonde ale. It has the definite Belgian yeast overtone that is difficult to describe in any way other than "Belgian". Would be very refreshing on a hot day.
Cheers!

Bottle. Clear golden orange. Dense head with good retention and lacing.
A ruining metallic smell. A mix of other aromas including earthy farmyard, fungus, spices and orchard.
Tastes a bit like candy floss with fruit and honey with a bitter completion.
Mid range carbonation and body.
Why didn't I like this very much? Perhaps too many things going on.

Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting. Golden colour, moderate white head. Moderate aroma, notes of white kandij sugar. Medium sweet flavour, white kandij sugar and mild spices.

A: Dark side of golden, clear, medium sized thick head which hung around for a bit, left quite a bit of lacing.
S: Yeast and bretanomyces.
T: Starch, phenols and bretanomyces, seemed to add bitterness at the finish.
M: Medium to thick body, crisp texture.
O: A blonde with more depth than those from the bigger Belgian breweries, added complexity as it was drunk.

From Alcampo. In Grimbergen glass. At dinner, with york ham+cheese sandwich. Delicious sweet sugaryness here. I only miss a bit more carbonation so that it feels a bit less watery
