I've now written a dozen reviews from De Brabandere who, over the years, has had good distribution in Chicagoland. But Wieze seems to have limited distribution in Belgium as I had to find it at the brewery's taproom. Not sure why they release Wieze so infrequently. It is a good tripel... Although it's ABV eventually did sneak up on me.
Poured from De Brabandere's tap, it Looked a decent foam on a pretty orange-ish pale. Smells were fruity, but citrus was in the lead and I tend to prefer tripels with harder fruit. Tastes are well-enough balanced and it didn't show the impact of its 8.5% ABV until the very end. Medium-mouthed in a lively style.
I give very good Overall Hugs to De Brabandere because they are leaders in the BFBA (Belgian Family Brewers Assn.) They also are very accomplished, covering most of Belgium's wide-range and consistently producing award-winning brews.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
