This is described as a "Belgian blonde ale." It's a light yellow color in the Bacchus tumbler with plenty of foam, which makes for a fine-grained tingly mouthful.
This tastes of corn muffins and cupcakes with a nice bitter edge. Rather sweet but with a good balance of yeasty dry bitterness. Wheaty, grainy tasting and mellow. There is an interesting woody note with a touch of straw and biscuits.
Overall it's sweet and wheaty, but the descent into dakness for the finish is so rewarding. One of my favorite beers that I've tasted in 2014. Another exotic brew on tap at The Public House in La Jolla, Calif.
