not bad, but after the rice lager it doesnt seem quite as dialed in, but i like the parts of this that read as german, namely the ferment, and i like the lightness, i think it will play well in the summer, some hops here too, a little bit more robust than some of the classics there maybe, but not out of line, plenty of personality, i like how drinkable so many of the beers on their menu are, lots of recognizable styles, easy alcohol contents, and i think they are off to a pretty solid start overall. blonde and fairly clear but not immaculately so, average white head from the tap at the brewery, fine carbonation. nose and taste of biscuity pils malt, on the light side, fresh and simple, a little bready and mineral character, but not the most robustly grain forward example of the style, some spice to the hops and indeed some appreciable bite as well, not a ton of nuance here, simple in a good way, bitter with some linger at the end, rather light bodied, dry, and just a bit husky hully at the end with the hops, light citrus but this is not a fruity hop complexion, and it lingers just a bit longer than i need it to, not to the point of interrupting the refreshment value, but proportions could be tweaked to yield a tidier, brisker example of the style. that said, its pretty good still, and it has a lot of potential, hard to be too critical of anything here with how new they are, and already so far ahead of the local curve in most of their beers. curious to see what this tastes like next batch...
