dubbed a golden ale, this was the weakest of their beers when i was in, not bad, but in need of refinement for sure, also arguably their most basic, so the lack of execution seems odd. could be their first batch on the new system or something, and i suspect it will improve in the future, thats the way it goes with competent beer people in new spaces, i have no doubt, but i didnt love what was served this time, a bit of haziness to it, which there really isnt room for in the style, and a little something from the ferment in a beer that i think wants neutrality there, but still light and easy, just kind of mindless, uninspiring, but not bad. a touch of grain sweetness up front thats there through the first half, a light floral note, subtle red apple or something fruity too, not quite estery, but unexpected, subtle as it is, no real hops to speak of in this, slow fade after each sip, more or less beer flavored beer, and of the lighter ones in here that we drank, i would rank them like this, the rice lager by a mile, the german pils, the guava one, and then finally this one, its just not to the level of the others. enough carbonation and a light body despite the cloudiness, okay overall, but forgettable. this will improve if they brew it again, but with the others they have on the menu, im not sure they need this one...
