Actually a very nice lager. Pours a pale yellow, with a nice, foamy head which lingers. A pleasant, well-balanced taste, with a little bit of spice in the aftertaste. Smooth, velvety mouthfeel. Pleasantly surprised!

Dark gold pour, no real head. Nose is malted grain.
Taste is apple, light kilned malt, little floral. Light mouthfeel. Finish is grassy with a light metal note.

Excellent with the Nepalese food I just ate, calming on the palate (the beer, obviously.)
I can't say this often about its style, but Mustang Looks appetizing with a healthy foam that sticks around. Smells are indistinct and average. Tastes are also, more because they may have tried to cut corners with sugar and corn starch; tho still balanced, just sweet. Given the dinner's spices, Mustang was welcomingly soft on my palate, a good respite from Aussie bubbles.
Imported by the Sagoon Group in Sydney, Mustang seems to get decent distribution here and the U.S... at least I conclude from the raters' locations. Turns out that they have links with InBev... and suddenly the distribution power appears. My first from CG, so I went on their website linked from UnTappd. CG Brewery is part of a large conglomerate that is dedicated to helping Nepal and has some 20,000 employees in some 200+ companies across some 30+ industries. Not craft brewers, the Chaudhary Group nonetheless puts on the face of a conscientious company that I hope is a true face. And for that I give them very good Overall ratings.

Going into this with extremely low expectations, but curiosity above all.
This pours clear, thin lacing. I get a lot of a musty aroma, unfortunately, the taste of a beer that’s traveled very far only to end up tasting very poorly.

I don't think that I've ever had a beer from Nepal. Without high expectations, I sampled this one with my wife. From a twelve ounce brown bottle, it pours a golden clear color with a white head. Bit of a skunky aroma, followed with cereal and perfume. The taste is of a European style macro lager...sweet balanced and just okay. Light body and forgettable.

I don’t know but sometimes I’m just in the mood for a lager. Tonight we had Indian curry so my choice fell on this lager from Nepal - I prefer not to drink anything too hoppy with spicy food because of the spices messing with my taste buds... so a lager is the obvious choice.
Now this one isn’t really like the ones from India, Kingfisher, Cobra et al, it is rather like more of a rough, less refined thing. It is made with corn starch and its sediment was floating around in the beer. It is also made with added sugar so the aroma was quite sweet, it was actually a bit strange, reminded me of apples... The taste wasn’t that bad, but it wasn’t good either. It went well with the food though but I have my doubts about drinking it on its own... but I guess I wouldn’t mind backing a few down on the way to Everest.

I imagine that this essentially this is Nepalese Budweiser. Looks like it, smells like it. A little bit of malt presence. But hey, it’s from Nepal!

Was offered this beer as a better alternative to Taj Mahal, which it absolutely is. It's not brilliant and I wouldn't keep it on hand, but if you have friends and family that don't like craft this is better than Coors or Bud.
Weak taste. Velvety mouth feel, especially for such a watery lager, taste of overly treated grain, with a mellow apple after taste. Almost no discernible odor.
