February 2003: Looks like a pale raspberry soda. Strong initial carconation, but hardly any head. Very light fruity aroma, light bodied despite the high ABV, refreshing but no real substance or aftertaste. No, Carlsberg - this is not what the world needs. Let's have Wiibroe Imperial Stout Porter back, you m******f*****s.

A new raspberry beer from Carlsberg. A special release for "Beer Test 2003" in Denmark so the brewery could decide which new beer to bring to the market...
Appearance: delicate raspberry red (red Fanta?), tons of bubbles!, thick billowous stand of foamy head slowly diminishes to a thin bubbly cap
Aroma: berry-like fruitiness with an nondescript berry background, somewhat framboise-like, alcohol, hops
Flavor: starts off subtley sweet with a hint of raspberries but balances out quickly with a somewhat assertive bitterness, the finish is rather dry with a slippery (?) feeling, an almondy alcohol hit comes in midway (like a Belgian strong ale)
Mouthfeel: light body, tight carbonation, a big hit of alcohol warmth, some acidity
Overall Impression: starts out pretty interesting then disappoints in the flavor but finishes off above average. Not sure why they made this one as strong as it is, though. Seems better suited for the 4%-5% range. Worth a try, if you can find it.
