A 660ml clear glass bottle with a BB of May 2015. Purchased a while back from a supermarket. Carlsberg lager blended with blackcurrant flavour - mmmmmmm.
A: Poured into a straight pint glass. A clear golden colour with some faint floating sediment and good carbonation. Forms a decent head of frothy white foam that lasts for a moment or two before collapsing and dissipating.
S: Aroma of intensely sweet blackcurrant - smells like Tunes. Not unpleasant but rather artificial. Barely resembles beer as we know it.
T: Tastes of sweet blackcurrant cordial with a mild finish. Notes of blackcurrant, sweetener and a whisper of stewed leaves in the background. No bitterness to speak of.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and a thin, insubstantial body. Aftertaste of sweet blackcurrant and just a twinge of stewed leaves.
O: Well, it's a sort of lager that tastes mostly of blackcurrant. Average looks, watery body and the rest is just flavouring. Vaguely reminiscent of a snakebite black but without the alcoholic punch. Not very beer-like; I don't hate it but I can't really recommend it either.
