My tasting was a bit out of the "norm." I was hanging out at the pub during and after their annual Oktoberfest celebration and I was able to try a tulip of last year's Saison. This was one of the tastiest freakin' beers I have had in Upstate New York. It was something that should be at a "night of the funk" type festival just so the world can experience its grandeur. I wrote Adirondack Pub & Brewery an email in hopes that they will start to hold a certain number of kegs from each batch for future unveilings... I was completely blown away by this beer!
Appearance was a very light amber color with a small but quite solid head
Smell was sour and lively
Taste was upfront in an almost flanders/sour style
Mouthfeel was almost champagne-like, but with a fortified body true to heavier beers.
100% greatness!

On draft at the brewery.
Poured a hazy medium straw hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.
The smell featured a pungent ester and a grassy and spicy hop.
The taste consisted of earthy hops, gamey yeast esters and a light biscuity malt.
The mouthfeel was typical of the style.
Overall a delicious and complex saison.
