I had this one at the Broadway Brewpub - It is served in standard straight-sided pint glass. The beer is a darkish gold with just a skim of white head.
The smell is a bit thin. I get mild hops add a bit of tangerine.
The taste is a bit of a mash-up. There is some metallic bite, washed out straw and citrus. This is the first beer here that did not meet expectations.
The mouth is very crisp but drinkability suffers from the odd notes in the taste.

Pinochle is a drab and uninspired pale ale with no head or lace, a meaty, yeasty smell, and a strange soda-like carbonation that dies abruptly. It is densely hazed in an attractive rusty-orange, almost redbrick color. But the taste starts bland, finishes drab, and is tainted throughout by a peculiar inherent soapiness. Pinochle possesses a sclerotic backbone of malt and a wet noodle of bitterness but on the whole, it is a vapid and forgettable beer.
