Exported to Japan, my label pegs this pils at 5% ABV, some 1.5 and quite different than the reviews below. I'll agree this is a sweet pils, but actually sweet goes well with Japanese food. Rice tends to be a sweet, or at least neutral, grain. And the spicy noodles I just ate for lunch needed something to cool off my palate; and this smooth pils did that. So there is reason to believe this will be a successful export to Japan.
I give Darguner's pils an average rating relative to its style. Darguner has done little distinctive here to warrant a better rating. But this was a good lunch lager, calming my palate from spicy noodles. Plus I discovered that Darguner is now a brand of Harboe, the Danish beverage and food conglomerate. So Harboe must have known this sweet pils would be good to test in Asia. And for that, I give a slightly higher Overall rating.

Looks better than it tastes. Very light, thin and bitter. This kind of sums it all up, found nothing much to say about it. Does not represent German Pilsners well.

500 ml bottle, bought in a NETTO store, Denmark. Very pale golden colour, large head. This is a reinheitsgebot beer, but the aroma still has strong elements of maize/corn-like sweetness, notes of boiled vegetables, honey and a flower bouquet on its way to the dustbin. Flavour is dominated by over-cooked vegetables and corn, far too sweet for a pilsener, lacks completely the freshness and crispness a good pils should have. A harsh bitterness in the finish does not help much. Disappointing, but I guess that’s what you should expect when crap brewers Harboe own the brewery.

Drinking from a 500 ml bottle. 5% ABV. It has the typical hop profile of the style, though a bit weak on mouth. Nice aroma of fresh grass. At first, carbonation feel was excessive, than got better. Very drinkable and no bad notes at all.

I tasted the 5% version. Light yellow color. Made some head that dissipated quickly.
Very faint aroma of herbal hops. In its taste, predominance of malt and grassy hops that leaves a somewhat lingering bitterness. Good carbonation. Aftertaste a litle dry. Good alternative to adjunct lagers , given its price.
