Appearance: a little head due to pour; lacing throughout. Nice copper color, which I think bodes well.
Smell: Burnt malt. Weird but not bad. Not great either.
Taste: Odd. When cold, when first served, burnt biscuits/malt. As it warms, it is fine. More buttery notes which balance it out. Usually, when an ESB is too cold, it is too bitter at first from the hops. After this one warms, some of those burnt notes can still be noticed, but overall it is good. Cold, not so good.
Drinkability: let me repeat--let this one warm!

This copper colored beer was topped by an off white head that left decent lacing. Aroma of grain and some hop. Smooth malty taste with some herbal hoppiness. I liked this beer. I found it very refreshing and wanted to kick back in this nice pub and have another. Couldn't though, had to get home for an appointment. Nice mouthfeel, a fine easy drinking esb that had strong English leanings. A winner, and very drinkable.
