Received as part of a trade throw in with BMBCLT 4-1-23. Undated bottle consumed 11-14-23.
Neer poured a deep reddish-brown with a beautiful tan head that has some great hang time.
Nose is dark bread with notes of light chocolate.
Taste is slightly roasted and chocolate malts that leave a touch of bready sweetness. Hopping is definitely a companion and there to balance the sweet malt base in a nice fashion.
Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and fairly smooth and refreshing.
Overall this is a nice treat, don't see a lot of this style from the Mother Country in my neck of the woods.

A: Pours an opaque yet still clear very dark mahogany brown approaching jet black in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate ruby red + garnet red + cola brown colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall sudsy foamy tan head that slowly reduces to a large patch of mottled very thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of dark + slightly roasted + chocolate + bready malts with moderate amounts of caramel sweetness. Light o moderate aromas of lager yeast. Light aromas of earthy + spicy hops.
T: Upfront there are slightly stronger than moderate flavors of dark + slightly roasted + chocolate + bready malts with moderate amounts of caramel sweetness. That is followed by light to moderate flavors of lager yeast. Finally there are light flavors of earthy + spicy hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which fades away fairly quickly leaving moderate lingering dark malts flavors with a light amount of roasty bitterness.
M: Light to medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly crisp with a relatively clean finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a lighter mouthfeel. Moderate amounts of malt complexity makes this one enjoyable.

Undated bottle; drank 6/11/22 @ the Yarchives.
Mostly see-through brown/orange appearance.
An even pour yielded a nice tan head; strong tree-rung lace.
Acorn, cream & metallic foil notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Acorn, mild cream & faint metallic foil flavors.
Since they won't date this bottle, I can't say how old it is, but I'm hoping the metallic notes are due to this not being fresh. As it is, I can't rate this very high.

A traditional town brewer-pub arrangement in which, I bet, the brewing is better than the cooking.
A quaint and probably pleasant town midway between Prague and Vienna.

Pivovar Regent Třeboň "Zlato Prazske Dark"
500 ml brown glass bottle without production codes or freshness dating.
$2.39 @ State line Liquors, Elkton, MD
Notes via stream of consciousness: It's poured a clear, dark ruby colored body beneath an average-sized head of creamy yellwoed off-white foam. The aroma is sweetish with dark caramel and a hint of spiciness. The head has dropped at this point but there's some nice lacing left behind. It's not surprisingly much different than the aroma suggest. It's lightly sweet but not as sweetish as the aroma would have you think as it's balanced by a firm bitterness and drying, spicy hops. In the mouth it's medium bodied and crisp. There are no surprises here, this is just a very straightforward dark Euro lager. The head retention and lacing are OK, and it's well balanced with sweetish malt, bitterness, and spicy hops.

The seconds, the minutes, the hours, the days, over a month, all have passed like nobody's business. Except mine! People bemoan the State Store closures here in PA & yet, they laughed about my backlog pre-COVID-19. Shrug. I am happy to stay at home & inside for as long as it takes. I am currently winnowing down the Bottle (!) Backlog & here is one from my local, in-person trader, @tone77 .
From the Bottle: "Original Czech Beer"; Independent Craft Brewed Anno [Since] 1357".
I will admit to being curious (Yellow &/or Blue) about this one, so I started by Pop!ping the cap to find out. I went with a slow, gentle C-Line pour into the awaiting glass & sat back as it foamed up beautifully. I was left with just under two-fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, deep-tan/light-brown head with very good retention. Color was Dark Brown to Very Dark Brown (SRM = > 27, < 34) & it was really a mahogany color, just gorgeous! Nose had a pleasant roastiness, slightly smoky, not to the level of chocolate or coffee, but definitely roasty. Mouthfeel was medium, good for a Lager. Others have mentioned a breadiness, like brown bread or pumpernickel, but what this REALLY reminded me of was my old friend, Kvass! Mmm. Made from rye bread, it is a drink of Russian origin. This was a Czech Lager, but now, I would be curious to see its malt bill. It had little to no perceptible bitterness, so the hop bill would also be of interest. Finish was semi-dry & highly refreshing. A great start to the day! YMMV.

The beer pours a lovely dark chocolate brown color with a thin mocha colored velvety head. Really an appealing looking beer.
With the aroma, I initially got a malty aroma intermingled with some cocoa notes, but as it warms I get more of a bready aroma with notes of pumpernickel and spicy hops with just a touch of sweetness coming through on the back end.
The taste is initially quite malty, with notes of rustic brown bread, pumpernickel and some light cocoa notes. Some spicy hops are present towards the back end with a light malty sweetness.
Feel is medium bodied with a rich malt backbone that really does come through in the overall feel. Bright spritzy carbonation is present.
Overall this is a bit "richer" than some of the other examples of the style I have had, but this is really very nice nonetheless.

Dark burnt mahoghany brown, momentary tan foam, looks like a porter.
Smells vaguely roasty, toasted bread crusts, dry bakers chocolate.
Taste is mild with a fair amount of roast malt, but it’s marred by a nearly tart astringency that throws everything off balance. Light bodied and thin, carb tends to ebb away by the last third of the glass. Overall I might try this again if it was fresher, but it’s undated so it’s impossible to know.

This one pours a fairly dark brown color, with a small head and lots of lacing.
This smells like pumpernickel bread, chocolate, dry roast, and herbs.
This is a bit watery, but the taste feels about right. There’s some nice spicy dark breadiness, no real hop character, and a bit of dry cocoa character.
This is light bodied and creamy, with a good level of drinkability. It’s pretty watery.
This is definitely a style that I love. This particular one is done well enough.

Poured from a brown 16.9 oz. bottle. Has a cola color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of roasted malts, dark breads. Taste is dark malts, some pumpernickel bread, smooth and easy drinking. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a solid beer that I will have to revisit during the summer.
