750ml corked and capped bottle poured into a matching Fantome tulip. The brew appears a beautiful golden orange color with slight haze sitting underneath a pillow of white froth sustained by constantly rising bubbles of carbonation. It is amazing to see the integrity of this bottle/seal has not been compromised in the 2+ decades since it was brewed/bottled.
This smells sweet like bubblegum, orange creamsicle, vanilla and husky grain. There is a fruity sweetness to this that is tropical feeling and reminiscent of some lambic blends.
The taste has slight herbal appeal then orange zest, pear, apple, creamsicle, dry dusty grain and a lingering sweetness mixed with classic fantome house brett character.
This is light in body yet displays a creamy feel to the texture with a modest amount of carbonation. For being 22 years old, this displays little to no signs of its age other than complex house/brett funk that can only come out in time. An amazing experience and what a beautiful piece of beer history. I cant believe how well this bottle held up.
