20 year old 750ml bottle with a faded label that shattered when I handled it too roughly. Luckily the cork is in much better condition as it explodes out the bottle in one piece. The brew pours a gorgeous perfectly clear copper color with white sudsy topping that fades slowly and audibly.
The aroma is classic Fantome house character with wonderful earthy brett nuance, slight orange rinds, caramel malt and the slightest papery oxidation. When swirled its a little cheesy and dusty.
The taste is malty sweet at first blending to fruity alcohol like candied oranges than becomes a little warming with alcohol and bitter like pulp. Lots of dusty brett flavor here that dries out the finish despite opening up sweet.
This is medium bodied and modestly carbonated. I am very surprised by the integrity and condition of the cork and how it has contained this much pressure/carbonation for 2 decades. Fantastic experience.
