750ml bottle into a matching Fantome tulip. The brew appears a clear amber color that gets progressively more clouded towards the bottom of the bottle. A white finger of froth sits atop and fades slowly leaving some spotty lacing on the glass.
The aroma is fairly muted with a mild funk and fruit aspect. Hints of pear and apple skin blend into a bit of a lemony lactic tang. Overall not bad smelling, just quite muted and subtle.
The flavor is somewhat fruity and tart. An earthy quality of brett that is almost leathery blends into the skins of fruit like apples and pears. There is a bit of lemony lactic character before getting more earthy and cardboard-like in the finish. When focusing on the dry earthen aspect, a mild spice almost like pepper evolves.
This is a medium bodied brew with a modest level of carbonation. It is a smooth brew with seemingly no alcohol impact. The finish on this is so clean that it is strange. By all accounts, this brew is more than 12 years old and I expected it to have just a little more depth. However, it was surprisingly clean and enjoyable for what it is. Thanks go out to BA Claaark13 for the trade and chance at trying this one.

Bottle at Fantome-a-thon 2012
Orange in color with a white head and rather high carbonation. The nose is heavy on the citrus and bread with just a subtle lemon-like tartness. There is a bit of melon in it, too. The flavor is maybe a little bit watery and simple, but the flavors that are there are good. Mostly orange peel, bread, a light biscuit flavor, and some subtle lemon peel.
