From the bottle, it pours a coppery amber with a nice head that slowly reduces to a heavy ring and leaves lacing as you drink it. Caramel malt and some alcohol in the nose. In the mouth, caramel malt and some slight astringent taste. It seems to age reasonably well!

Poured from the 22 oz. bottle into a Lawson's tulip.
a: Hazy copper with a finger thick light ten head which receded to even surface foam and dense lacing.
s: Caramel malt, slight overripe fruit and alcohol.
t: Overripe fruit and alcohol up front with considerable bitterness. Slightly sour aftertaste.
m: Medium, nearly overwhelming carbonation tingle.
o: Flavorful to a fault, perhaps overaged, purchased last July on sale, clearly a leftover 2013 holiday issue. I was hoping for a more malt-dominated brew, but this approaches a saison as is, and not such a great one at that. Actually works fairly well as a fruity winter warmer though.

An interesting bottle from Gritty's. Old recipe? Let's see how it goes.
A: Pours an attractive mahogany with a nice off-white head.
S: Aroma brings vinous, grapey oxidation, some mild toasted grain, brett-like cobwebs. Not what I was expecting.
T: Taste brings lightly astringent roast, caramel, brown bread, red fruit tartness, mild metallic note.
M: Thick-bodied with moderate carbonation.
O: This is sort of an odd beer. There's some mustiness and tartness to it that might suggest a brett infection...

From the 22 fl. oz. bottle. Sampled December 7, 2013
According to the label this was an old recipe found in an old book that was only brewed once. So they brought it back for the 25th anniversary.
It pours a fairly milky looking medium amber with a modest cream colored head that dissolves to a ring.
The two words that describe the aroma are "dark fruit." Maybe overripe fruit. Earthy hop sensation too and little to no alcohol bite. But also muted malts.
The body is medium and smooth.
The taste has the same sort of dark, overripe fruitiness that I get on the nose but I expect the WGV hops lend a certain savoir faire to the mix because the yeast strain can be felt, smelt, and tasted. A drinkable but not a highly remarkable beer. Well, strike that - if you like strong ales you might enjoy it.
