Served on tap as part of the sampler (albiet an extra) at the Grittys in Freeport ME.
Very light golden color. Completely see through. No evidence of lacing.
Light fruity smell - my brain says raspberries, but my brain was told that by the bartender. Very mild smell.
Clean taste, light fruitiness, low carbonation.
Easy drinker, decent enough brew. Nice in a sampler, not sure I'd go for the full pint though.

Off the tap (thanks Carrie!) this beer was a bright yellow color with great clarity and lots of visible carbonation. The head was pure white and thin, retaining poorly and leaving only dollops of lacing. The aroma was light but nice, raspberry and dry, grainy wheat sweetness. The flavors were semi-sweet at first with raspberry mash but then it faded from there into a dull wheat note and general graininess. Nothing else to speak of. The finish was crisp and I definitely thought of it as summery but not much more. The body was light and watery, the mouthfeel average and the carbonation too low. Eh.

Light gold in color with a typical Wheat beer haze.
Very thin light head that faded almost right away.
No lacing to speak of.
Really not much aroma at all.
Slight raspberry taste that is not at all overpowering. Crisp finish with almost none of the classic wheat taste at the end.
Very light mouthfeel.
This is a summer session beer, but Gritty's is not a summer session place. So I'm not exactly sure how it fits in.

The beer is a light orangey gold, topped with a thin ring of head. Some sticky lacework, forming large clumps on the glass. Slightly hazy.
The aroma is dominated by sweet raspberry. Some light, crisp wheat malt. A mild hopping, with some light esteriness. The flavor mainly relies on the raspberry, which is ok with me. Very summery and simple, reminding me of summers a few years ago sitting on the beach drinking beers just like this.
The flavor is much less dominated by the fruit, which is nice. Light wheat malt starts off the sip, with a touch of yeast. Moderate raspberry flavor enters in the middle, with a light touch of clove. Very light, but detectable hops finish the beer, with a bit of fruity sourness. A dryish finish, with a bit of raspberry tartness in the aftertaste.
American wheat ales are certainly not my favorite style, but this one is pretty decent. The fruit works with the beer, not overriding it. Extremely summery, this would definitely hit the spot on a humid august afternoon in New England.

A very average raspberry ale. I love a good Raspberry ale and my precedent being the La Choulette Framboise, this one pales in comparison. The appearance was very pale with very little raspberry color and a very minimal head. Aromas were very, very faint and only teased of raspberry fruit. This seemed to not really want to be a raspberry ale, and was straining to be just another ale, The mouthfeel was light and moderately cleansing. The beer worked well with the pub grub at Gritty's in Freeport though and was at its best when mixed as a black and tan with the Black Fly Stout per a waitresses suggestion.
