Poured from bottle into pint glass
Appearance: Orange/copper in appearance with about 1 finger of white head. Sediment is seen on bottom of glass
Smell: Strong hops with hints of citrus.
Taste: Bitterness of the hops is the first thing that is noticed (though it is expected, given that this is an IPA). Just like the aroma, hints of citrus are noticed in the taste. There is also a mildly bitter aftertaste that is somewhat unpleasant.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with strong carbonation. Goes down pretty easily.
Overall: Pretty good IPA.

Not a bad session, just not my favorite. Appears golden-orange in the glass with haze an a lesser off white head. Smells of hops and a faint caramel and citrus scent. Taste is a little weak but decent and not extraordinary, hops, malt, caramel with a bit of citrus. This is a good session, and I'd try another.

Not a big fan of the title "session IPA " they only call it that to keep the 3 letters in the name because they sell beer. The style should be called " hoppy pale" . That being said, this one is delicious ! Big citrus, easy drinking . If Lakefront had distro in NC I could see drinking this one all summer . Cheers!

Sediment in the bottle, pours golden without too much head and very little lingering lace. Light carbonation. Excellent hoppy smell and taste with a nice IPA bite for taste. An excellent choice and one I'll keep in my rotation.

Not impressed with this one, just a watery, spritzy version of an ipa to jump onto the "session ipa" craze (not sure it is really a craze, but as there used be none called that and a line of people including me hoping for well-done low abv beers of several categories, and now I see a new beer labelled "session" practically every time I go out). When the structures is so spare, the beer really needs finer carbonation and a careful touch to shine. Simply did not happen here. This is more like I added some club soda to my ipa.

Grabbed in a sampler pack from Lakefront at THE Heritage liquor
Look: pours a dark Amber with a white head. Not a big fan of the color

Smell: the smell is pretty excellent. I'm picking up pine and grapefruit mainly but with some sweetness as well

Taste: An initial fruity taste with a bite at the end of pine

Feel: good carbonation throughout the beer not a terribly dry finish and a medium mouth feel

Overall: I would buy this again and possibly seek it out. Considering it's a session IPA, it's surprisingly tasty

This beer pours a slightly hazy goldne straw color with a decent head. The aromas are primarily tropical. The flavor also leads with a burst of tropical fruit, mango, pineapple, back up by a solid swet bread malt. The mouthfeel is middling, neither thick nor thin, in fact it is more full bodied than most sessions. Overall this is a very enjoayble session brew, perfect for when you want a full flavored beer with less ABV.

poured out of bottle into wine glass

look - clear, coppery
smell - not much, little malts
taste - watery, malts watery, very drinkable
feel - water (theme) little effervescence
overall - drinkable,I know the watery review sounds negative but honestly a much better version of some crappier light beers I drink. I'd consider putting it into a summertime rotation on a long day of drinking.

Pours two fingers of head on a clear straw body.
The aroma is bright lemon and grapefruit.
The taste has a moderate bitterness, the middle is a bit of a crash of bitter and sweet, but still fine.
The texture is crisp.

L: Pours hazy gold producing a 1” cream colored foam collar that takes 3” to fully integrate itself back into the beer leaving a thin, lacy film. S: a herbal biscuit scent with some floral notes mixed with fresh mown grass and a little pine rise form the glass. T: The palate features light melon, bery and citrus flavors in balance with a grassier, herbal hop bitterness. It all rides on a backbone of lightly sweet malt that dries out by the finish. F: Very creamy with a medium light body, medium carbonation. O: This is a very full flavored sessionable beer that is well worth repeating.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 11/19/2015. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy golden orange color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, light pine, light honey, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with great complexity and balance of bright citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light honey, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/orange peel, pineapple, pine, light honey, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and moderately sticky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.3%. Overall this is an excellent session IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Time for a session ale!

A : Nice dark iced tea color with 80% opacity. The head is voluminous and fluffy and creates a beautiful cap about 2 fingers tall. It sticks to the side of the glass as it recedes, clinging on for dear life.

S : The smell is faint but I'm getting cling peach, fresh roses, some moldy bread, and sourdough.

T : I can taste unbuttered, unsalted popcorn among sharp pine-noted hop. Fruit peels as well as a faint banana note and moldy peach accompany it. Cantaloupe rind. Slight herbal dank.

F : A pucker in the mouthfeel wraps it up at the end. The front is semi-dry and heavily carbonated.

O : For a "session" ale it's a bit on the strong side, but most of the flavors here while unique are also somewhat unremarkable. The popcorn is both unique and off-putting.

A good strong citrus aroma. Falls into the criteria of a session IPA perfectly, with a nice and restrained bitterness to it. This would be a good introduction IPA for beginners.

Picked up a Lakefront mixed 12-pack. The best by date on the bottle states it's good for another two months. Poured right from the fridge into my Red Eye pint glass.

L: Pours a somewhat hazy straw color with about an inch of eggshell head that dissipates pretty quickly but leaves decent lacing on the glass. Moderate visible carbonation and a little bit of particulate floating in this one.

S: Big floral and citrus hop notes in the bouquet--some definite grapefruit coming through, as well as lemon and orange. Some cracker malt notes, along with something just a bit earthier. Nice nose.

T: Cracker-like malts are right at the front. Just a bit of tartness begins to appear there, and increases throughout the taste. The hop flavor is immediately present: citrus fruit in a big way, although the specific notes are more difficult to recognize than they were in the aroma--grapefruit is probably still the most prominent. The middle sees the citrus hop flavor at its peak, with the malts still taking backseat. The close is citrus zesty and clean-finishing, with a very moderate amount of bitter hop flavor in the back or aftertaste.

F: This one is one the lighter side of medium-bodied. Smooth, effervescent, a little bit creamy in the middle, and decidedly clean-finishing. It feels just the slightest bit watery, but this actually probably improves its drinkability as a session IPA.

O: This is a really great session IPA. It provides some of the most satisfying hop flavor and aroma that I've found in the style. This one can definitely stand in the same company as Pinner, All Day, and Go To. This just might become my regular summer fishing beer. I definitely recommend.

Pours a nice clear golden with white head. Pine, citrus, and some flowery notes on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with nice light hop resin.

11/30...pours cloudy dark bronze, creamy white foam thick and clingy. Light soft pine nose. Soft malt taste, light rind, grapefruit, pine taste, Subtle hop bitter that stays smooth and never strays.

12 oz bottle stil had a thin coat of sediment on the bottom after a full pour. Th lightly hazy, golden-amber body wa topped by a very good off-white head that left decent lacing. Plenty of fruity-herbal hoppy aroma, and nearly as much in tasting. Still, with a light body that is noticeably light for an IPA, this drinks like the session IPA it is. Recommended as such, or as a hoppy APA.

Bottled 5/21/14, I really need to start checking dates before I buy beer. Hopefully this isn't too off.

Pours a decent fizzy bubbly head that hits 1/2 a finger but fades pretty quickly, very little lacing, mostly clear but sediment laden apricot orange color.

Nose has a mild aged hop unfortunately but not a lot, some decent floral grassy hops, pretty fruity and a little citrus, juicy hops, with a faint malty backbone.

Taste brings a sweet malt, almost sugar water like flavor, and some light caramel and golden malt flavors, but a bit watery. Then hops, nice hops though, juicy fruity hops, a little citrus, a mild grassy note and flora note, that turn a little earthy and woodsy as it warms, decent bitterness but juicy and sessionable as hell. Finish is dry and clean, a little watery again, decent bitterness, little fruity hop, but ends pretty quickly.

Mouth is med to lighter bod, little watery, lots of carbonation.

It seems like it used to be a bit more sweet, which I wouldn't have liked as much, so that turned into extra carbonation, but it's still watery somehow, which is the biggest draw back. The nice hops are actually pretty good, not as aged as I expected. Still enjoyable and very sessionable, like drinking a tasty water.

12 ounce bottle - $1.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Pours out a hazed, light coppery body with a near white head, small in stature.

Smell: Bready pale malts with a bit of sugar and spice. Lightly floral, melon-scented hops with a sliver of fresh, glistening herb.

Taste: The Extended Play India-Style Session Ale kicks off with pale malts housing a bready quality and restrained sweetness. Floral, fruity hops with a little green herbal hint. Subtly bitter. Remains a bit bready for the softly bittersweet, smooth finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-plus carbonation.

Overall: Agreeably decent and would have no reservations about having another.

Slightly hazy light amber beer that wields a graded foam cap of translucent white.

Thin citrusy and fruity hoppiness with a sessionable balance with the malts. Quite bright, and a little sweet, with orchard fruits and chamomile and faint tropicalia. Enjoyable, but thin, nonetheless.

Hop tea bitterness with steeped humulus over brittle ale construction. Very thin in malts, now. Pale and washed out. Hops rise above, as they damn well should, but there's little else going on other than some faint grassiness. Crunchy bitterness seems perky, but remains moderate in magnitude. It opens with a burst. Flavors delving into tangerine, peach, orange blossom, white tea, and faint piney woodiness. Such an easy drink. The flavors are really easy, but really good. This is indicative of what it's supposed to be, and I'm almost sold on the session IPA concept. As per Extended Play, the mouthfeel is light and refreshing. Overall, pretty solid. No discernible alcohol, nice chunky carbonation. I like it.

Pours a hazy, golden color. 1/2 inch head of a white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of earthy malt, sweet malt, citrus hops, floral notes, and slight alcohol. Fits the style of an American IPA. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, hops, citrus, hint of floral, and a hint of alcohol. Overall, good appearance, decent aroma, but weak body and complexity.

Not at all impressed, and baffled that this beer is deemed an IPA. It's a pale ale, and a weak one at that. At approximately 4% potency, and hardly any hop to note, I wouldn't recommend this beer to anyone. Inflated price tag on a poor beer was a double whammy.
