Pours bright gold with a fine, creamy head, releasing grapefruit and pineapple hop aromas, along with mild fruity esters from the Belgian yeast. Malty sweetness hits the palate first, in true Belgian Tripel form, followed by citrus and tropical fruit from the Citra and Calypso dry hopping, leading into plum with a hint of clove spiciness.

A - This bright golden beer's white head is kept alive and frothy from the steady stream of carbonation flowing from the glass' etching. This stirs up tiny sediment particles but a few extra vitamins wont kill your diet.
S - Aah, the inviting aroma of Belgian yeast! A plethora of yeast nuances floods the aroma beginning with a bit of sharp lemongrass and white pepper tickling the senses before earthy clay and fruity banana esters open into honey drizzled caramel malts.
T - While some American-brewed tripels include extra additions of spice (to which I often wonder, "why?"), Kyle's My Turn seems to derive its spiciness from the yeast or, if additions were used, they were done so conservatively. Lemongrass and white pepper make the first appearance, mirroring the aroma, while sweet white grape flirts with honey notes and a white bread-like malt finish.
M - Kyle's medium-full body moves from being a little heavy and semi sweet up front to lively carbonation and a dry finish that cleans up pretty well.
O - To my knowledge, Lakefront's My Turn Kyle is one of the first attempts at a harder-to-nail, more traditional Belgian beer and with how well it turned out, it shows their versatility outside of the skills they possess to produce world-class lagers. Sweeter than most tripels and lower in alcohol content so it would seem to me that while the Belgian yeast did a good job of imparting some of the classic characteristics one would hope to find in such a beer, it didn't ferment out quite far enough; those residual sugars leaving a bigger body, sweetness, less dryness, and lower alcohol but damn if Kyle isn't still a winner!

Tasted from cask at Firkin on July 22, 2015. Look is thick dark red. Smells of rock candy and dried fruit. Smells like ripe plums. Tastes earthy. Feels smooth.) h

On tap. Really sweet. Slightly hoppy fruitiness on the back end. Mild spice taste. So-so.

Thanks goes out to jwc215 (Joe) for sending me this one, much appreciated.
Poured into a chalice a cloudy dark yellow color, nice carbonation, with a fizzy white head which disapates quickly, leaves a nice huge island, but also leaves quickly, minimal sticky lacing. The nose is malty with some very nice yeast notes. Picking up some banannas, clove, slight nutmeg, and some lemon. The taste is very nice, malty, yeasty, with some light fruit notes. Medium body, ABV is hidden very well. Overall a very tasty brew, definitely worth a try. Thanks Joe!

This is more of a Belgian pale ale to me. It's too hoppy for a tripple.

Pours a soft, soapy, white head. Bright aroma of yeast and floral hops. Hazy, straw color. Starts with a surprising hoppiness, but without the bitterness. Big esters in the front. A spike of floral hops right before biscuity malt comes through. Finish is floral hops lingering over yeast.
This isn't bad. It's in the more hop forward of the style (I prefer the malty ones), but this is maybe the best example of a hoppy tripel I've had. Not bad at all, but not as stunning as the rest of the My Turn series has been.

Best by 26 Sep 2015 - Poured into a glass chalice:
Pours golden with a thin white creamy head. Strands of lacing stick.
The smell is of sugar candy, citric fruit, bananas, a hint of lemongrass. Bright, fruity and complex.
The taste is herbal/spicy and fruity (citric and tropical) with a candy-like sweetness. As it progresses a white-grape-like dryness comes through. Finishes dry and moderately spicy.
Effervescent without being fizzy, the body has a nice texture. Flavors linger in a pleasant way.
This is a wonderful example of the style. I'm impressed - Very well-done!

Dark straw appearance with a nice, puffy two finger white head. Gives off a ton of carbonation bubbles and laces beautifully. Yeast, ester, bubblegum, banana and a whiff of booze on the nose. Palate is hard to describe - no big flavors jump out but there is banana, citrus, candied malt and warming alcohol. Really smooth, easy drinking stuff with a great mouthfeel. On the low side for carbonation but adequate. This is a very good Tripel and probably in my top 3 for My Turn series beers. Well done.
