Growing Power hits the glass pale copper with a loose, fluffy white head. Grapefruit, pear, and floral aromas prevail from organic Cascade, Centennial, and Calypso hops, followed by clove esters and spicy phenols. Citrus and clove greet the palate first, with organic caramel and Munich malt rounding out the flavors, adding balanced sweetness and a medium mouthfeel. This one ought to put a sustainable smile on your face.
The citrusy hops and ample maltiness in this Belgo-American hybrid will compliment a cayenne pepper and paprika blackened tilapia or a spicy vegan potato and kale curry. Sharp gorgonzola or mild Edam both make perfect companions for Growing Power, too.

Lakefront Brewery Growing Power Farmhouse Style Organic Pale Ale (6.7% alcohol by volume) is USDA certified organic. I am drinking this 7-31-16 and it has a 11-18-16 best by date. It pours nearly clear copper amber with rapidly rising bubbles under a 1" light cream colored foam cap that dissipates to a thick clingy film. Head retention is moderate. The beer clears a little as it warms. Growing Power has a mild scent of light floral and citrus riding on light white bread crust. It has a very creamy palate and a mild tartness. It starts grainy, citric and clean but concludes with banana, fruit and over ripe fruit. It has a hoppy vegetal astringency on the finish and a moderate hop bitterness. Growing Power's medium body has a very soft medium high carbonation. This is a full flavored refreshing harvest ale for drinking while threshing wheat.

Actually past the expiration date. Got it for $1.19.
Nice and cloudy. Unfiltered beers provide the most taste and aroma. Amazing lacing with great retention.
Smells like a strong farmhouse.
This is delicious. Great balance of flavors here. Farmhouse Belgian through and through. Organic ingredients make the best beer.
Medium bodied.
Awesome brew. I'm not a big Belgian/farmhouse guy, but this is a spectacular version. Now I need to try their IPA.
