Brewed in memoriam of our beloved friend and co-worker, Al. Stronger and fuller-bodied than its British counterparts, this pitch black American Stout sports a hefty roasted malt and caramel flavor.

Brewers notes: My turn series Al, American Stout, Pitch black, medium body, with strong roasted and caramel malt flavors. This is a 12oz. bottle, best by 9/9/21. I gave it an aggressive pour and I was rewarded with a three fingers of thick foam, tan in color. As the foam recedes there is thick lacing left behind. True to Lakefronts notes, this is a very dark beer, to dark to observe any carbonation.
The aroma is a sweet malt, somewhat subdued, but very pleasant.
The flavor is roasted up front, sweet, then dry, with a nice touch of a bitter finish to cut the sweetness. The sweetness is what lingers after the sip is finished. At a pleasant 6.7ABV there is not an alcohol bite here. The mouthfeel is medium, the carbonation is light. This is an easy Stout to keep sipping on, it didn't last long.
