I really enjoyed this beer, on tap at Pizza P, reviewed from notes. Beer is yellow and completely hazy, poured in such a way as to appear to have no head at all except for a few remnants on the surface, small white bubbles, moderately carbonated, served too cold but still good. In a shaker pint.

Aroma is sweet, mildly floral and yeasty.

Beer is wet, medium to light in body, sweet up front, mildly bitter on the back, a little dry on the finish but overall a really enjoyable clean saison. I'd have this again.

I had Solidarity Saison at ChurchKey around the time of DC beer week. It's a decent saison. I liked the smell but there were some 'off' flavours.

A: Cloudy yellow with a decent head that lasts awhile. 4

S: Saison funk and lemony yeast as well as some vanilla/banana ester. 4.5

T: Malty with an unexpected, sharp slightly bitter kick. Lighter notes of vanilla come through in the middle. The finish is unpleasant. Muddy. 3.5

M: Foamy 4

On tap at the Dupont Paradiso last night. This is the official beer of DC Beer Week 2012,and is a blend of seven locally brewed saisons from 3 Stars, DC Brau, Mad Fox, District Chophouse, Capital City, Gordon Biersch and Chocolate City.

A cantaloupe-colored pour with a dense, white head with good retention and lacing, this looks nice. The nose is great. Plenty fruity, very tropical-like with mango, peach, some banana, a moderate honey note, very spicy with a lot of clove, pepper and a little bit of herbal character too. Despite the variety on the nose, this is relatively well-balanced. The palate opens fruity and sweet with a lot of fruit - honey-drizzled bananas, mango, over-ripe stone fruit. Following this, the sweetness does fall off a little bit, yielding slightly doughy flavors. Very yeasty and spicy but not very phenolic, the spiciness is a little more intense than I typically care for. Medium-light in body with moderate carbonation, this beer has a nice finish with honey, fruit and spice present. Solid stuff.
