On tap at Kimballs, Williamsport, PA: dark brown, tan head presenting 1/4 inch thick and dissipating to a top - no lacing.
Smell is roast then oak barrel with subtle rum but definite booziness.
Taste is roasted malt then oak barrel and rum with heavy vanilla.
Mouthfeel is a little biting from the booziness.

Draft from tap @ The Beer Store - Malvern, PA
Wanted to love this as it is a local from PA, but it really was not much of anything. Bourbon just kisses the base beer to add some sweetness and fills it out, but way too subtle. Some slight alcohol comes thru as it's 10%, but it is an ez drinking brew. Just nothing jumps out as exciting.

I tried this on tap at Lancaster Brewing Company's Harrisburg location -served chilled in a snifter.
The color is appropriately black with medium tan head with creamy look and fine bead and thick lace with lasting retention. The smell is dark caramel/toffee up front with a rich roasted scent and subtle vanilla from the barrel with light alcohol in the nose. The feel is full with roasty heavy body and dry quality with moderately high carbonation yet mild sweetness mid palate and moderate alcohol in the finish.
The taste has medium bitter and dark roast coffee in malt flavors with slight chewy caramel and cocoa elements mid palate with semi-charred flavor and light woody element with subtle stone fruit and mild alcohol in the taste with lots of roast and perhaps some bourbon but more toffee-like and caramel maltiness with char continuing into the finish. This is a good barrel aged stout but a little heavy on the roasted malt if I am going to nit-pick, not excessively alcohol heavy for 10% taste wise which I like. I don't think the barrel expesses a rye/bourbon quality as described and you can pick up some winter warmer in the blend. I wonder how much of a different beer it would have been without it
