In honor of our 25th anniversary, we brewed a bold, barrel-aged, brunch stout with cacao nibs, Hershey’s cocoa, milk sugar and local maple syrup. Aged for 9 months in bourbon barrels from our friends at Hidden Still Spirits, then finished with a touch of specially roasted Costa Rican Tarrazu coffee from Lancaster County Coffee Roasters. We loved creating with other local producers to showcase this locally inspired brew!

From a 16oz can dated 89026 (?) into a pint shaker. Can message: "Brunch Time"
Pours an opaque black with maybe one finger of dark tan head that recedes quickly leaving no lacing.
Nose has some dark chocolate, maple and light coffee and barrel spirits. They don't say anything about cinnamon but I'm getting a hint of it.
Taste is similar to the aroma. Add in some maple and light roasty notes. Tastes are balanced if not even a little subdued. Nothing is taking the lead but everything is playing together nicely.
I was expecting this to be a bit thicker mouthfeel, so medium bodied with light carbonation. Slight barrel heat.
This is enjoyable enough. Just didn't "wow" me like I thought it would.

Thick, chocolatey, bourbon aplenty. Super rich, but not overly sweet or bitter. Delicious. Perhaps my new favorite!
