On tap at a German Fest in Yokohama.
Pour was clear but very dark brown with a large beige head.
Aroma: dark malts; dark toast.
Flavor: dark roasted malts with some smoke and a light burnt grain note. Mildly bitter. Fine aftertaste.
Feel: very smooth, full body with near perfect carbonation.
Overall: a fine, bold, dark porter.

The aroma is predominantly dark roasted coffee along with some bread crust, toffee, and dark chocolate. The head is light tan and the body deep brown with faint garnet highlights. There is lots of upfront coffee and chocolate in the flavor; the roasted malt provides a somewhat dry, husky, cocoa-like finish; a peculiar hoppiness with spicy and herbal qualities backgrounds the coffee and chocolate after a few sips. The body is a little fuller than light with moderate carbonation and a good bite.
While the aroma is very pleasant, the flavor is a bit odd. It tasted pretty good at first with a very distinct coffee and chocolate character, but that didn't last long and was soon replaced with a strange amalgamation of roasted malt and herb-like hop flavors. On the whole, it's a pretty good porter, but I think there's plenty of room for improvement.

12oz bottle poured into my little hotel tumbler
Pours brown, lightish for a porter (it's right on the borderline of opaque -- if I hold it in front of the window, light comes through), creamy tan head. Little carbonation. Smell is roasty coffee, some coconut sweetness.
Taste is mostly coffee, but with some vanilla cream flavor, which is surprisingly nice. This would be very easy to drink in large quantity.
Mouthfeel is creamy with a slight grittiness. Overall, this is a pretty solid porter.

Pretty good stout, especially from a Japanese Brewery. Very easy to drink and the flavors are all around decent however not very challenging. Would have been nice to have a few stronger flavors in there and it might have been nice with a slightly higher alc. %.
Overall pretty good. Not as good as their Imperial Chocolate Stout though.

Pours a dark clear brown, almost black, with ruby highlights, and a thin dense tan head. It's a very pretty beer.
The aroma is complex and seductive, with gentle floral hops and malt notes of chocolate and caramel.
The flavour is rich and well-balanced, with chocolate and roast malts tempered by the noble hops and just enough bittering hops.
It is a warm and creamy beer on the palate, just inviting you to take another sip.
This is an excellent beer, which I recommend without reservation.

Opaque almost black body, with a small off white head served in a 12 oz. reisling glass.
Nice delicate chocolate and malt aroma. Slightly hoppy.
Well rounded chocolate flavor, they should rename this "Chocolate Porter". Firm but unobtrusive bitterness. This is great!
Smooth and rich mouthfeel, with a fine carbonation.
I went to a beer tasting, with this as one of the 13 beers available. After having this, I did not bother sampling the other offerings.
