7/5/24 - (Can - Home) (Chicago, IL) - Can Notes: Purchased from Shop and Save on Nagle on 6/27/24 for $3.96. Purchased and kept refrigerated until opening tonight. 24 oz with a Best By August 2024 stamp, with a code of L093B019, which stands for canned on December (L) 09 2023 (3), second shift (B), 1st line and brewery number 9. Corona Extra, La Cerveza Mas Fina. 4.6% ABV, 148 Calories, 13.9G Carbs, 1.2G Protein, 0.0G Fat per 12 oz. Brewed and canned by Cerveceria Modelo, Nava, Mexico. Imported by Crown Imports, Chicago, Illinois.
Appearance: Full pour and then top off pour for 2/3 of the can into a large lager/pilsner glass. Generous head lingered for a couple of minutes before leaving a thin lifeless cover over half the base and a few clumps of lacing in its wake. Base is golden yellow, carbonation heavy shifting to sustained mild. 3.25
Aroma: Grainy barley malt, mild in strength, one note. OK 2.75
Taste: Consistent one note taste, faint to mild barley malt, but salted buttered corn comes on after digging in further. Stays consistent throughout. 2.5
Mouthfeel: Light and easy, carbonation gentle, drinks at ABV. Sweet and creamy, perceived sweetness adds depth to the light body. Buttered popcorn finish. 2.5
Overall: This offering is consistent from the can through in the glass for a while. Simple, buttered salted popcorn, prefer the food variety. 2.5

Three 620ml bottles of 'Premium lager' for £6.50 at my local 'big' Tesco supermarket, this sadly housed in clear glass
Pours a crystal clear golden body with a white head that all the pouring technique in the world won't save
Aroma once the skunking goes is corn oil
flavour is watery lemon

Drank out of the bottle with a lime
I wouldn't say that it is much different from a Modelo or Pacifico but it is cold and refreshing
A great beer for the summer

They hype around corona is just not there.....i prefer modelo. This beer has a shity aftertaste that doesn't go away. Its like modelo that had a child with natty ice beer.the first sip flavor is good with hints of citrus. But then it goes down hill from there. I think the "ur supposed to put a lime in it" is a excuse....it's not as good as i have hoped
Update: i had a few more beers. Not bad.

I mean, you know what you're getting here, so don't expect a fancy craft brew. It's mass-market cheap beer, good on a hot day but that's about it if you're looking for something more interesting. It's popular in the US because it's everywhere and it goes with Mexican food, or at least the Americanized version of it, but otherwise you can clearly do better.
