Cerveza Pacífico Clara, better known as Pacífico, is a Mexican pilsner-style beer. It was first brewed in 1900 when three Germans opened a brewery, the Cerveceria del Pacífico in Mazatlán. Cerveza Pacifico is named so because the Pacifico brewery is located in the Pacific Ocean port city of Mazatlán, in the state of Sinaloa, México. Its label includes a picture depicting a lifesaver encompassing a hill with the port's lighthouse, known locally as "Cerro del Crestón." In Mazatlán, the beer is available in three different size bottles: "cuartitos" (6 fl. oz), "medias" (12 fl. oz.), and "ballenas" (32 fl. oz.). "Clara" means clear, as opposed to "obscura" (dark).

7/4/24 - (Can - Home) (Chicago, IL) - Can Notes: Purchased from Shop and Save on Nagle on 6/27/24 for $3.96. Purchased and kept refrigerated until opening tonight. 24 oz with a Best By October 2024 stamp, with a code of B224C124, which stands for canned on February (B) 22 2024 (4), third shift (C), 12th line and brewery number 4. 24 oz, 4.4% ABV. 143 Calories, 13.6G Carbs, 1.1G Protein, 0.0G Fat per 12 oz. Brewed and canned by Cerveceria De Coahula, Nava, Mexico. Imported by Crown Imports, Chicago, Illinois.

Appearance: Poured about half the can into a narrow Pislner glass. White head lingers for under 1 minute before leaving a faint ring above the clear straw caramel base with light carbonation. Looks a little flat. 3.0

Aroma: Faint bread and maize after a few attempts. 2.5

Taste: Bread and salted sweet corn. Tastes a bit above the average macro AAL beer, but that said, it has flavor but on the bland side. 3.0

Mouthfeel: Heavy light prickly felt carbonation, coupled with sweet corn adds some depth to the light body. Drinks at or perhaps even above the listed 4.4% ABV, nice balance between the sweetness and at least perceived bitterness, with a decent dryness that adds to the experience. Liquid white bread finish. 2.75

Overall: This is a decent standard Mexican lager, enjoying, will finish the large can and would order depending on other options in a Mexican restaurant. 3.0

Pacifico and Victoria definitely beat Corona Extra and Cerveza Sol in my book. Tecate and Carta Blanca remain at the back of the pack

Possibly the best of the macro Mexican lager offerings. Receiving an undue amount of hate. Lovely with spicy food and hot weather.

Olhão 10/7 2016. 35,5 cl bottle from Jumbo Supermarket. Very yellow label with all kinds of maritime paraphernalia to assure me that this beer has a solid relation to the pacific.

Pours clear pale yellow with a white head. Settles as a 1 cm thick layer of foam. Enthusiastic carbonation.

Aroma is very sweet with notes of soap and glue. Not especially pleasant.

Strong carbonation and watery palate.

Flavor is heavily sweet without much bitterness.

I imagine that this could be perceived as a pleasure and a relief if you drink it in 42 celcius in the Sun. Otherwise do not bother.

It is currently 75 in Phoenix and the child is playing in the pool, and I am here reading the WSJ and drinking a Pacifico , is it a great beer, not really, it tastes good, has a weird mouth feel, and the smell is average.

But for the afternoon with this perfect in between weather and the feet in the pool and a slight breeze it makes you feel like you are in a bar on the ocean watching the world go by.

So for those days where you have nothing and the weather is nice, perfect beer to have. Otherwise wait until that day comes

This is my go to beer for drinking with Mexican food. It's light, but not "LIGHT." IYKWIM And it helps tame the excessive spice I sometimes have in my food.
