i have not had much sour beer from these guys at all, so was excited to see this on a menu. its only lightly pink, has a nice dryness to it, and is moderately sour but not aggressively acidic, lending to drinkability. the low alcohol is just a bonus that allows me to drink more, its not short on flavor at all. the fruit is natural and hits right up front, less sugar to it than in some, a very real complexion, but its also mild, as in i can still appreciate the base wheat malt and the lemony lactic flavor, its not overly fruity, and its not really sweet at all, lots of minerals. the finish is a little less than fully clean, and i dont mean it has any funk or lingering sugars, just that there is a light almost cereal dusty thing at the end that i sometimes get in really young brett beers, a little stinky to finish in that way, but its mild, and with the piquant tang and the dryness and high carbonation, this still drinks real easy for what it is. the pureness of the raspberry is what makes this for me, im not sure how good it would be as a classic berliner without the fruit. neat to see these guys doing this sort of thing, and its pretty good.
