Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass at the brewpub. The appearance was a decent looking reddish to brown color with a nice half fingered white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute leaving some slight stringy lacing. The smell had a light nutty to caramel to apple notes. The taste took those flavors and combined them nicely. On the palate, this one sat fairly light and came across fairly sessionable as the carbonation was there but mainly subdued. Overall, pretty nice ESB that I could come back to.

On location in Gaylord on 2 occasions.

A: Not so much red-brown as brown-red, it's mostly, but not completely, clear. Off-white head shows moderate height, retention, and lacing all around.
S: Some floral and leafy notes against biscuit and honey-like sweetness. Caramel, nuts, and green apple finish it out.
T: Leafy and lightly steel with a solid hops/malt ratio and balance. Sweetness holds through without kicking the hops down. Caramel, nuts, and slight tartness translate from the nose. Well-rounded character overall.
F: Appropriately semi-dry with sweetness keeping even in the middle, the medium body holds well into the finish.

Quite sweet and heavy aroma. Caramel and toffee. Can't say I really pick up much hop aroma.
Nice reddish hue to the darker body and a small but dense tan head that leaves a pretty heavy lacing.
Again malt forward. Kinda' thick heavy and chewy. Less sweet than the aroma. Hop presence to buffer the strong malt character with a sweep of flavor and a small push of bitterness on the finish.
This gets closer to a winter warmer than what I think of for a ESB. Kinda' heavy handed for an ESB. Having said that, not an unenjoyable beer, holding some nice malt qualities, just not a typical choice for end of July.
Thanks Drevis.

This is me and my wifes favorite ESB. Served in a pint glass. 10.5% abv now.

Nice white 1 finger head, amber/red color.

Smells like toffee and caramel with a slight hop presense.

Taste just like it smells amazing.

medium body, light carbination.

Sample at the Gaylord location: Dark amber/red color with a compact light beige head. There is a top ring of lacing with spots beneath. Strong earthy malt aroma. Medium-bodied with a rich malt character, along with some citrus and a touch of alcohol. The finish is dry and hoppy. Above average ESB in my opinion.
