I've asked this to be re-styled as a Keller/Zwickelbier because it is.
Cloudy, fairly foamy and slightly citrusy in my nose, balanced and medium-mouthed (and soft), this Das Zwick'l reminds me of what lagers used to be like before they became mass-brewed.
As for Eibau's micro-review, I consider them a regional brewery. There seems to have been some consolidation over the years between Saxon cities and then some decentralisation after Germany was unified in the 1990s. Not all of this is clear to me as I could find the English translation for only part of the website. But at any rate, there is history here and Eibau is in the 21st Century, trying to make it as a modernised global brewery.
I bought this copy at Total Wine Santa Rosa.

Appearance: Low haze, straw gold color. Frothy, white head with good retention.
Aroma: Has a low biscuity, herbal note. Slight yeast note .
Flavor & Aftertaste: Low sweetness. Low bitterness. Herbal/spicy.
Mouth-feel: Medium bodied, drying, short finish with a slight bitterness.
Overall: This is a Helles style base beer. A pleasant and refreshing beer. It's light on the palate without being thin. Has some subtle aromas, including a yeasty note that I coaxed out of it after drinking about 1/3 of a glass and swirling. Biscuity malt flavor. While not a true Kellerbier (those aren't really meant for packaging resale at distro, it's a nice beer that would work well in summer or holiday meals where you want something lighter but with a little more character than a AAL.
