Our unfiltered Hacker-Pschorr Weissbier is naturally cloudy, full-flavoured and uniquely refreshing. Georg Pschorr – in his day owner of the Pschorr brewery and a man of true foresight - spread word of this exquisite and enjoyable Hefe-Weissbier and made it popular beyond the borders of Bavaria.

7/26/24 - (Can - Home) (Chicago, IL) Can Notes: Purchased 7/21/24 from Woodman's in Kenosha. Bought four pack of 16.9 oz cans at store temperature for $4.19 including tax, refrigerated upon returning home until opening this evening. Canned 9/8/23, best by 9/8/24, 5.5% ABV. Weissbier. Classic Unfiltered Wheatbeer, Brewed according to Bavarian Purity Law in Germany. Imported by Paulaner USA, White Plains, New York. Brewed and filled by Hacker-Pschorr Brau GnbH, Munich, Germany.
Appearance: Bronze tan cloudy base as this is unfiltered. Nice generous egg white creamy head lingers after a half pour into a glass close to Weizen style (a New Glarus glass) before leaving a creamy cover mix of fine to large bubbles over the entire base. Light carbonation. Looks good consistent with style. 4.0
Aroma: Nice yeast and fruit aroma, strong banana, clove and apple, with the wheat very noticeable, all come together well. This beer has held up well over time. 4.5
Taste: To control to not gulp down the first pour. Just a great Hefeweizen, hits my taste preferences well. Consistent with the aroma, every flavor coming in bold, nice proper balance. Well done. 4.25
Mouthfeel: Soft and pillowy, negligible to no carbonation. If freshness is a factor, this is the only noticeable aspect. Drinks very light and easy, well below the ABV. Banana, clove, apple and wheat linger on the finish, reminding you why you picked up this beer. 4.0
Overall: This beer is nearly a year old, was sold at room temperature, and still tastes excellent. Speaks well to the sold pride this brewery has brewed its limited catalog. There is a reason I like many beer amateurs have loved this beer over the centuries. Can't believe it took this long before I formally sat down and rated, but will buy this beer, fresh or near the end of code, with confidence. Superb! 4.5

Appearance (Look) – 4.0
Pours exactly like a classic German wheat beer should. A beautiful hazy wheat color with a biscuit-brown tone and a thick head. Authentic German weissbier appearance.
Aroma (Smell) – 4.5
Right off the nose you get everything you want from the style: banana, clove, biscuit, and sweet bread. Spot on for a traditional German weissbier.
Flavor (Taste) – 5.0
That’s right—5 out of 5. This is the perfect flavor profile for this style of beer. Excellent balance of banana and fresh bread notes with just the right carbonation. Clean, smooth, and incredibly drinkable. Competitors should absolutely take notes.
Mouthfeel (Feel) – 4.75
Extremely soft and smooth. Light carbonation with a creamy texture that makes it incredibly easy to drink. Outstanding mouthfeel.
This is the holy grail of weissbier. There are many outstanding wheat beers from Germany and around the world, but this one stands at the top of the mountain. It delivers everything the style is supposed to be.
Mancave Rating: Crown Jewel Beer
If you're a fan of German wheat beers, this one is mandatory drinking.

Great Weissbier, a classic. I prefer Weihenstephaner HefeWeissen but this is also wonderful. Great feel/body and the hoppy flavor is nice.

If not for the import price, I would buy this beer more often, its an above average weiss beer, its got just a just a tad grassy and dark after taste, otherwise no complaints.

So many American breweries attempt to imitate this style but very few can brew it this way. Tastes so good when you stir up the sediment on the bottom of the bottle and pour it over the top of your just poured beer to achieve that full flavor bouquet.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 500mL in a weizen glass. From the Huron Church Rd. LCBO in nearby Windsor. No date stamp or lot number. My fourth beer from the Munich, Germany brewery, and for 2025. With Sundae the cat...

Hazy orange color with a big, white head as expected. Classic notes of banana and clove in the aroma. Malty, yeasty taste. Not sweet and very drinkable.
