A red/burgundy pour with light carbonation, and nice clarity. The nose is pretty subtle with malts and sugars but not very floral. The drinking starts with lots of rich malt upfront and a rather smooth and clean finish. Some definite hop bitterness comes on the more I drink. Earthy with nice malt sweetness, spicy hop presence, and dark candied fruit notes. The mouth feel is full bodied and hardy. I really get a nice warming quality from this beer.
Overall, a pretty solid brew that goes great with the cooler temperatures.
