On tap at C'Est What? Festival of Small Breweries.

Pours a hazy red/brown, thick off white head forms, some lacing, decent retention. Already better than the other fruit beer. Smell is sweet, strawberries and grain, smells like jam as others have said. Taste is overly sweet, very fruity, hint of toffee, grainy, dry finish with some lingering strawberry. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with low to medium carbonation. Not good, not too bad, better than the cherry.

In a sample bottle from the brewery. Deep chesnut brown with next to no head that ends up as a ring with spotty lace.

The nose is unmistakenly, but not overwhelmingly, of strawberry jam as well as some caramel.

Caramel flavours followed by gentle strawberries. Thin-bodied with a slight metallic bitterness. Some dryness.

Overall, subdued but quite drinkable and one I'd try again.

200ml "sample" bottle:

Brewer says this is a Brown Ale with real strawberry fruit.

Pours a deep brown ale in the goblet with a small off-white cap that reduces to a glass-lacing ring.

Promising aroma of husky bready-yeasty malts subtle fruit and grass tones with light sweetness.

moderate caramalt spine, medium-light bodied and with a very rounded pleasing character.

Up front we get a cramel-malty brown ale to chew on then light strawberry tartness mingles with the mild hopping to add the perfect balance...very well done here. Finished cleanly, wet with a bready-fruity tartness and little after taste.

The better of the two experimental summer fruit ales...and very drinkable

200ml bottle, pours a deep reddish-brown, little to no head, somehwat flat....the nose is sweet strawberry jam and sugary lollipops...taste wise i was pleaseantly suprised: little to no sugary sweetness, no stickiness, only a small hint of actually strawberry on the palate. in fact, as it stands this beer is quite subtle and laid back in all aspects. again only the slightest hint of strawberry are in the background. slight woody and tart finish...the mouthfeel is quite nice, gentle carbonation giving it a fresh and light lively touch....this would be best mid-summer and i think a pleasant thirst quencher...

again my favorite part about this beer was that it wasn't sticky and sweet like the nose might have suggested. decent offering.
