Enjoyed a decent sample approx 6 oz. at a Backyard Beer Festival held by a friend of mine. Straight from the brewery via growler.
Appearance - Decently dark brown colored beer, a slight bit hazy with a decent tan head on top that dissolved fairly quickly.
Smell - Not much of a nose, a little grain, a little nuttiness, but nothing substantial.
Taste - Some nuts and grains come to the forefront with mild bitterness, but there's an alcoholic harshness and spiciness that doesn't really fir with this style of ale. Decent to good flavor otherwise.
Mouthfeel - Smooth and reasonably well carbonated, however fusel alcohol and harshness aren't great for mouthfeel.
Overall - Not the worst brown ale, but pretty forgettable and the fusel harshness isn't too pleasant. Pass.

A - Brown ale with tan foam.
S - Burnt, malty nose with hints of caramel and earthy notes.
T - Roasted malt flavours, little hops.
M - A bit thin but pleasant roasted malts.
O - A drinkable brown ale. Gets better the more I drink it.

500 mL bottle picked up at the LCBO; best before Jan. 2015. Now labelled as "Irish Style Brown Ale"; this brewery has a history of giving old beers slightly different names so it seems like a safe assumption that this is basically the same thing. Served slightly chilled.
Pours a lovely, clear dark amber colour, topped with a half-inch of soapy, bubbly off-white head. It soon wilts into a narrow film of froth, accompanied by a collar and some slight lace. The aroma is earthy and dirty, almost like coffee grounds and potting soil. Caramel sweetness is also detectable, with a slight nuttiness to the bouquet. Not bad at all.
This is actually a reasonably well-brewed brown ale. Malts are dominant at first, combining notes of bread crusts, toffee, toasted nuts and some slight dark fruitiness. The hops come through in the end, offering up some pleasantly earthy, nut-skin bitterness to balance the profile out. Bittersweet finish with a touch of toasted malt, lingering only briefly. On the lighter side of medium-bodied, with fairly low carbonation that gives this beer a smooth, satisfying feel in the mouth. This is not a mind-blowing beer, but it is still easy to knock back.
Final Grade: 3.53, a passable B grade. I will readily admit to not being a huge fan of most of Trafalgar's beers, but this Irish Style Brown Ale is probably one of their best offerings. It is both approachable and sessionable, with the price point being about as low as this brewery's offerings get (around $3.50/pint). This is one of the better widely-available OCB browns in my humble opinion, and if you're a fan of the style (or English pub ales in general) I'd say that it's absolutely worth picking up.

Picked this up at the LCBO. Pours a dark copper colour with an average off-white head that has moderate retention and does not have much lacing. The nose is quite grainy with the roasted barley and notes of nuts and toffee. Smooth and velvet mouthfeel. Same as the aromas for the taste, but much tamer. Nutty, with the roasted malt in the aftertaste. Very lightly carbonated, would have been better if there was a bit more.
